Messy Boob Complications Turn Into BIG Ouchies At the Office of The Doctor

When the boob becomes too heavy and your back is breaking, consider reduction. Release the BOOB.

He said to me that he hadn’t taken into account the weight of my boobs when he had stitched up the wounds. I was the first western woman to be a guest of his table, he was used to Filipina patients who were not generally so well endowed, but “not all Filipinas”.

Hey Babe You’re Boob is Leaking

I had a breast reduction for medical reasons, reducing the weight on my back and shoulders transformed my life, and this made it worth it. Maybe a different Dr not in the backwoods of The Philippines maybe, but the operation was worth it – once we got over the recovery stages, the leaking, extra stitches, and discomfort.

Having a breast reduction in The Philippines was fraught with challenges

We were at home, a week or two after the surgery, when my partner at the time said, honey you are leaking. I looked down and the front of my shirt was saturated.

Something was wrong.

Stitch it Up Doc

After a quick clean up we rushed to the doctors office, luckily not far away. It was at this time I realised I had lost all modesty about showing my boobs. I climbed rather awkwardly onto the examination table and whipped them out.

He carefully removed the dressings and it was revealed that his stitches, on both the girls were coming unraveled at a similar pace to my sanity at the time.

There was only one option, they had to be stitched up in the surgery, not necessary to go to hospital. I accepted my fate, clenched my teeth and prepared for the fix.

He stitched as quick as he could, I dont think he liked the situation any more than me. I think he put numbing cream on my skin, but I can tell you I felt every moment that needle pierced my skin. And the pull through, serious ouchies.

In, out, pull through. In, out, pull through. for 30 minutes or thereabouts.

On the Road to Boob Recovery

After that it was a straightforward recovery. I think the doctor was as scared by what happened as I was and made sure that the stitches wouldn’t fail again.

I was so lucky that my partner looked after me so well during the 6 week recovery, the pain wasn’t too much, it was more just uncomfortable. I am so grateful for her care then, and all through that relationship for 7 years.

She had encouraged me to have the surgery, she knew the daily pain I was in with my back and shoulders, and encouraged me to do this for myself.

It was an early lesson for me about looking after myself, not just others. It took a lot longer for me to really take this life lesson to heart, but I never regretted how this changed my life in so many ways.
