What Americans Are Losing—Is The Privilege Developing Nations Never Had

In News, Thoughts, Wonder by JayLeave a Comment

Privilege is shifting in onerous ways, there is only a select few that are in on the plan and its terrifying. When you think deeply about how the food stamp program in the US is being withdrawn, supposedly due to lack of funds, it raises something that I wonder how many have thought about.

Cruising around the different platforms online, there is a huge amount of chatter on the different aspects of this situation, and an intention to pit people against each other. This removal of support is no doubt a punishment from the regime in place, it can no longer be considered a government for the people. Have you noticed, what they are doing to their own mirrors what has been imposed onto a plethora of developing countries for an embarrassingly long time.

Maybe they were the testing ground for how much people will put up with.

When Privilege Shifts

When privilege is unseated in such a massive way it calls for an unprecedented reaction from the global audience as they sit with their buttered popcorn in front row seats. Because even though its the lowest financial rung in the US that will be immorally be affected by this debauchery of withdrawal, they still have a hell of a lot of more privilege than millions around the world.

Because the US is a wealthy nation, even now, with billionaires lining their pockets even more than ever while the country side is raped, land is stolen, and humans discarded while the wealthy plan their gold ballroom at the peoples house.

The colonisers are being colonised from within in the name of Christianity (sound familiar), white supremacy, and wealth privilege. AND its not just the US but let’s focus there for now.

The Privilege Snatched Away Others Have Never Enjoyed

Here is the thing, I grew up with privilege in Australia. There were so many services available to support people that it gave the impression of at least working towards equity. Granted it keeps changing, and users of the system, who know better than me, say its not enough, it’s hard to access, and the quality of living it affords is not a life at all.

BUT what if there was nothing at all. I now live in a less privileged country where there are very few safety nets. If there is no money for food you either go hungry or rely on friends or family, or when that fails crime simply to feed your family.

It’s a place where you hustle for hours for little return. Where electricity and gas are prepaid so no money, no service and no chance of paying by installments, there is no consideration for your plight from the providers. And if you cannot pay your rent there is no luxury of an eviction process, you simply arrive home one day, the doors are locked with all of your belongings inside and the only way to reverse this is to pay ALL of the arrears.

SNAP Benefits Have Left The Building

Back to the US. I truly feel for the people that will be affected by this criminal act, everyone deserves to have food regardless. SNAP benefits have been in place in some form since the 1930’s and are an essential program for many. Those fools sitting on their mountains of money think they know what’s coming next, but I think they will be in for a surprise.

The most shocking part of this whole scenario is that we are shocked. Truly. Because we have sat on our ample behinds for centuries raping other countries for their wealth, ripped people from their cultures to slavery, and always countries that were intentionally kept in poverty to serve the needs of the privileged.

Now that it is happening in the land of “milk and honey” they expect a bail out or at least hope for one. These are the same folks that hated sending money overseas to help others because they were not their problem. The same ones that knew people were starving, dying to provide the components for their IPhones but still did nothing.

The tables have turned and yet the beauty of the world is that people are helping because that is the world that we want to live in, let’s just make it more equitable. Not with handouts, condescension, and outrageous demands, but with love and compassion.

The Tearing Down Points To The Blueprint We Need

People have the power, it doesnt seem like we have, but we do. They point their weapons and horrify us with their lack of humanity. It is intentional. They want us to give up, they want us to fight each other. They want us to sacrifice our humanity for safety. We have already been doing that for a long time.

They used to hide their plans, now they operate in full view of the world confident that they can operate without impunity and pick off anyone that dissents or points to the truth.

I centre love, hope, joy, humanity. This makes me a warrior not a sheep. If we lay down now they will never let us get back up without slave collars and digital IDs, forced to serve the few. I worry for this world that is going to shit but I will never give up my love for people, and working towards a world where we all have more than enough of everything.

Peace Out
