How do I Know Who I Really Am? A Beautiful Bird Dreams of Becoming a Powerful Lion?

In Thoughts, Wonder by JayLeave a Comment

Does a bird dream of becoming a lion and if it so does that mean its inauthentic either as a bird or a lion? We talk, dream, and work towards becoming our authentic selves. My question on this reflective Saturday afternoon is how do we know when we arrive. What do we do when we get there. And what do we get out of it in the long run.

Is Authenticity Fluid Or a Static State?

I’ve been thinking about this. A LOT. Once upon a time I believed that authenticity was a destination, like a tropical island or a favourite holiday getaway. Something you reached, and optionally stay there. Cos pressure, stress, and daily life. I mean staying in the magical authenticity is possible but improbable. Or so we are told.

But now I think differently.

Rather than seeing authenticity like a brick wall you clamber upon, plant a flag and whisper hooray. After all many despise authenticity and those that claim it. And will knock you off the wall just because. So you make your voice small so the bigoted haters don’t notice you.

I see it somewhat differently now, perhaps delusional, however I have reached an age where I will live in such a way that I choose.

Instead I see it as fluidity, something that changes according to my whim. And why not. Being an ever evolving ball of energy, it simply makes sense to allow myself the flow of change in every aspect of my life.

Pros & Cons Of Fluid Authenticity

I cant see any cons. Not really. Excepts the bustards that reject and demonise authenticity that will bring you down. And fluid authenticity is even more challenging for people stuck in a version of themselves.

The pros are endless and can be encapsulated in one word joy. Our conditioning is the opposite to whimsy, predictability is expected, and the old trope that everyone gives shite up to fit into society. Joy is demonised, and questioned unless in small doses, connected to acceptable occasions.

Be The Bird Dreaming Of Becoming a Lion

The idea is to allow the dream. You can be anything, anyone, and the dream is your conduit. The naysayers are jealous and best sent to the sidelines. The more of us that dream of a beautiful world. An equitable world. One that celebrates the energy instead of manipulating it for personal elevation and greed.

Beyond that, its a personal journey. Create the life you want, try different ones and accept fluidity as your wing woman. Nothing has to stay the same, things happen for a reason only when you obsess about them, you re the power if you dont let them harvest it.

Peace Out
